Bareos Trainings

We organize Bareos trainings in German together with our training partners backup & recovery help - Dr. Stephan Rein (Berlin, Germany) and dass IT (Cologne, Germany).

 

Online Trainings

In June 2020, we offer an online course (Bareos Level 1 and 2) in German language; Dr. Stephan Rein is your trainer. The workshop takes place on several mornings:

  • Level 1: 22nd to 26th June 2020 (Monday to Friday, half-day workshop)
  • Level 2: 24 to 26 June 2020 (Wednesday to Friday, half-day workshop)

 

Inhouse Trainings

On request we organize inhouse trainings at your site. This will primarily be suitable if multiple participants are to be trained. Please use our contact form.

 

Trainings in foreign countries (English, Dutch)

Together with our partner Proxy Services, we offer the Bareos training program in English and Dutch. We can also arrange trainings in any other location (worldwide). Please do not hesitate to contact us.

Bareos Training Level I

Level I aims at Bareos starters with basic Linux system administrators' knowledge. Contents for this 3-days course are:

  • Introduction to Bareos

  • Installation

  • Basic configuration

  • Data backup and restore

  • Backup-scheme and -strategies

  • Volume Management I (Backup2Disk)

  • Volume-LifeCycle-Management

  • Tools/Utilities

  • Disaster Recovery

Bareos Training Level II

This advanced 2-days course assumes a knowledge base equivalent to Bareos Level I training and has the following topics:

  • Volume Management II: (Backup2Disk2Tape)

    • Tape (Magnetic tape) based backup

    • Autoloader / Tape library based backup

    • Migration and Replication (Copy Job)

  • Virtual Full Backup

  • Encryption of data

  • Overview of Always Incremental and NDMP

  • 2 hours workshop regarding participant's questions or issues
