Two Maintenance Releases

18.2.10 and 19.2.9 are mainly bugfix releases and solve some issues with the Bareos Director crashing (memory access violation), a memory corruption when autolabeling, WebUI login, backup/restore of CephFS mounts, and the File Daemon's LDAP plugin.

We've have also upgraded the VMware VDDK (Virtual Disk Development Kit) to version 7. Our Bareos VMware plugin is now able to back up virtual machines running on vSphere 6.5, 6.7, 7.x and the following major version.

There are new packages available for the following Linux distributions:

Ubuntu 20.04 (only for Bareos 19.2)
SLES 15 SP2
openSUSE Leap 15.2
UCS 4.4
FreeBSD 12.2

Bareos Updates

The Bareos team has released new versions of the Open Source backup solution: 19.2.7, 18.2.8, 17.2.9, and 16.2.10 are available for download.

Bareos at SCaLE 18X

The 18th annual Southern California Linux Expo will take place on March, 5 to 8, 2020, at the Pasadena Convention Center. The Bareos team will be present as well.

Bareos 19.2.5 is out

With new plug-ins for oVirt and Percona XtraBackup and a new tool for converting the Bareos catalog database from MySQL to PostgreSQL, the final version of Bareos 19.2.5 is available.

CFP: Open Source Camp (CANCELLED)

Let's talk about Backup! That's this year's Open Source Camp motto. The Call for Papers for the conference in Berlin (on June, 19, 2020) is open now: We're looking for case studies, reports on migration scenarios and other backup topics.

Bareos workshop at opsiconf

The opsi – Client Management – Conference is taking place in Mainz, March 2-3, 2020. On the first day, Jörg Steffens is offering a 2 hour workshop called "Backup-Strategien mit opsi und Bareos" ("Backup strategies with opsi and Bareos").
