What to expect in this session
The next Bareos Expert Circle session is currently being planned.
The date, time and topic have not been confirmed yet. We will update this page as soon as the details are available.
You can already register now. If you sign up, we will inform you by email as soon as the date, topic, speakers and agenda are confirmed.
At the next Bareos Expert Circle, Philipp Storz will share the latest news about Bareos 26, with a planned focus on the new WebUI and current development progress.
What is changing in the interface? What can administrators expect from the next Bareos release? The session will offer an early look at the work underway and an opportunity to ask questions directly.
The second presentation, “A Forensic View on Tape” will be presented by Bruno Friess from eXstor GmbH. It will begin with a brief overview of tape history before taking a closer look at the metadata stored on tape cartridges and how it can be extracted.
The session will also explore the information available through SCSI sense codes, including details about media lifecycle, drive condition, temperature and humidity. By bringing this data together in a tool such as Grafana, it becomes easier to understand what is happening during tape operations.
