Bareos 25.0.3, 24.0.10, 23.1.7 Maintenance Releases

We are happy to announce three Bareos maintenance releases with fixes and improvements: 23.1.7, 24.0.10 and 25.0.3.

Bareos 25.0.3

Changes:

  • On Debian and Ubuntu you can now disable database dumps on schema upgrades that are done by dbconfig
  • Barri parameter names between plugin and CLI are now the same
  • status subscription now calculates values based on the new price list
  • Director configuration options File Retention and Job Retention for Pool resources are now deprecated
  • Director configuration option Write Verify List is now deprecated
  • Bareos can now be built using GCC 16

Bugfixes:

  • The mariabackup plugin will no longer fail on invalid UTF-8
  • Hyper-V plugin now correctly automerges AVHDX differencing disks after RCT backup
  • The read timeout in the Proxmox plugin was increased
  • A bug in the Windows installer that broke substitutions in the configuration files has been fixed
  • A bug in the dedup backend that could lead to a leaking file descriptor has been fixed
  • A previously missing lock in the volume manager has been added
  • A memory leak in the gRPC file daemon plugin was fixed

Bareos 24.0.10

Bugfixes:

  • A bug in the dedup backend that could lead to a leaking file descriptor has been fixed
  • A bug in the Windows installer that broke substitutions in the configuration files has been fixed
  • A previously missing lock in the volume manager has been added
  • A memory leak in the gRPC file daemon plugin was fixed

Bareos 23.1.7

Bugfixes:

  • A bug in the dedup backend that could lead to a leaking file descriptor has been fixed
