Using Bareos with Hetzner Object Storage

Bareos offers different approaches for S3-compatible storage. Hetzner has recently published a guide on how to set up Bareos with Hetzner Object Storage. The guide covers installation, configuration and backup setup using the Bareos dplcompat Storage Backend.

While the Bareos dplcompat backend uses S3 as storage target, Bareos also supports backing up data stored in S3 with the including the Apache Libcloud Plugin, which gives users additional flexibility depending on their environment and workflow.

The Bareos 25 Proxmox Plugin in Action – Video Overview

We have published a new video showing the new Proxmox plugin in Bareos 25.

In the video, we demonstrate how Bareos performs agentless backups and restores of Proxmox guests. We cover both standard Virtual Machines (VMs) and Linux Containers (CTs). You can see full backups of both guest types, followed by complete restores directly back into the Proxmox environment. We also demonstrate flexible recovery options, such as restoring a machine with a new ID to avoid conflicts.

Hyper-V Backups with Bareos 25 – Video Overview

We have published a new video showing the Hyper-V plugin in Bareos 25.

In the video, we demonstrate how Bareos backs up and restores a Hyper-V virtual machine. You can see a full backup, an incremental backup and a complete restore after the virtual machine was deleted. The restore recreates both the VM and its disks in Hyper-V.
