Proxmox has released Proxmox Virtual Environment 9.0, the latest version of their open-source virtualization platform. Now based on Debian 13 “Trixie” and Linux kernel 6.14.8-2, Proxmox 9.0 offers improved virtual machine management, new storage and networking features, including snapshots for thick-provisioned LVM shared storage, SDN Fabrics support, enhanced high-availability options and a redesigned mobile interface powered by the Rust-based Yew framework.

Bareos and Proxmox
At Bareos, we know many of our users run Proxmox. A Proxmox plugin is the next item on our roadmap. The new plugin will make it easier to back up and restore VMs managed by Proxmox directly with Bareos. More details will be shared closer to the release.
