Mission accomplished: We’ve successfully converted the entire Bareos documentation.
A new and modern layout, an online search, and highlighting of the results – the new Bareos documentation is online! We started to convert the old LaTeX files a while ago and published the first draft of the new docs with the first 18.2 release candidate.
Instead of LaTeX and converted HTML, we now use RST (reStructuredText) and the Sphinx framework to transform the manual into different file formats. The included diagrams are implemented with PlantUML (Sphinx PlantUML extension). At the bottom of the left navigation bar you can find a menu to select the documentation for a specific Bareos version.
Most of the transformation was done by script, but it was necessary to adjust some things manually. If you spot a bug, please report it using our bug tracker or contribute your patch on GitHub.
